All of The Nutrition Tips You Need to Keep a Senior’s Smile

Many people believe that tooth loss is inevitable, especially as a senior, but that is simply not true! If you take care of your smile by keeping up on oral hygiene, visiting your dentist, and having a balanced diet, you can keep your pearly whites for a lifetime. To help you have the best diet possible, our Pelham Dental Group team recommends doing the following things:

· Eat the right foods: The best foods to eat for a healthy smile include fruits, vegetables, low-fat dairy products, turkey, chicken, fish, and whole grains. The worst foods to eat are those that are processed.
· Consume the right beverages: Sugary drinks and alcohol are extremely dangerous for your smile. Sugary drinks can lead to tooth decay and obesity while alcohol can lead to oral cancer. Alcohol can also irritate the sensitive lining around the mouth. It is best to avoid these beverages.
· Get enough calcium: It is recommended to get about 1,000 milligrams of calcium a day, which is about 3 cups. This is important because it prevents tooth and bone loss as well as osteoporosis. You can get your calcium each day by eating cheese, yogurt, broccoli, spinach, kale, and Swiss chard and by drinking low-fat dairy milk.

These three tips are extremely important if you wish to have a strong and healthy smile for a lifetime.
